Full Description

Features observed during trenching for mains replacement. 47 - A large feature backfilled with mixed dark soil and sand opposite the W side of the graveyard. This ditch or pit was c.10m wide and earlier than the gravel road surface. It coincided with the projected course of a substantial earthwork depression aligned almost N-S (now used as a hedge line) and may have been a medieval lane or ditch. (1)
