Full Description

Five pits were identified in the watching brief. Two were possibly quarry pits (for sand), or concerned with landscaping associated with the construction of a N-S wall across the site (which contained modern brick). One sherd of Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire stoneware was recovered from the highest dumped deposit on the site. (1)
See L12220 for stone drains, L12221 for hollows or pits from evaluation trenches.
