Full Description

No other features produced artefactual dating evidence. The size and shape of many of the linear features identified, together with the clustering of features adjacent to the Fosse Way, suggests an RB date is highly likely. The negative evidence provided by the lack of pottery suggests that the features are not settlement but the remains of field systems. The apparent alignment of ditches to the Fosse Way is not quite 90 degrees. This could suggest some pre-date the Fosse Way. (1)
See L11299 for nearby RB features, L12284 for feature producing IA artefacts mentioned above.
