Full Description

A homestead moat situated c 45.0m above sea level in a low lying situation; the S arm is filled by a water-filled brook and the N arm is predominantly marsh. The island is pasture covered and shows much disturbance; no positive building foundations were evident although stone walling can be seen in a ditch. A field road approaches the moat from the E. No local information was gained concerning the history of the site. (1)
Excavation by amateur group (late 60s/early 70s) allegedly found structural remains - possibly of a mill. (2)
