Full Description

Old Schoolhouse (Almshouses). A 2 storey red brick building with stone dressings, attic and slate roof built 1700 AD (by Sir Thomas Parkyns). (1)
Description by (2) on AM107 unintelligible.
A superb building in a mixture of English and Italianate design by the wrestling squire and architect of Bunny, Sir Thomas Parkyns. Surprisingly it gets scant mention in Pevsner. Built principally in brick in English bond with stone mullioned windows and quoins it is of great interest. (3)
School and almshouses. 1700. At one end the schoolroom, at the other four rooms for four widows. The master's [quarters] … took up the whole first floor and attic. (4)
