Full Description

Now virtually C19, that is the work of G. G. Place in 1848 (N aisle added) and even more of Gilbert Scott in 1862. Rich C14 recess in the outer S wall in which lies a hardly recognizable effigy of a priest. (1)
The first church was erected about AD 1080 and remained until 1360, when the present church was built on the foundation walls of the former. This church … consisted of a chancel and nave only. In 1848 the late Rector - the Rev. Edward Wilson - raised funds to enlarge the church … from designs by the late Gordon Place, of Nottingham. (2)
