Full Description

This well is the largest in the area. 90ft deep, 3ft wide at the top and widening out at the bottom. When in use it had a red brick wall around it, but now it has been filled in and concreted - this was done a few years ago (in 1951, when it was a ruin). It was rebuilt in 1760 or before. It had a winch fitted to bring a bucket up. More details are kept at owners solicitors, Straw and Pearce, Loughborough (08/07/1968). (1)
