Full Description

W tower of the C13, unbuttressed, with a thin corbel table [and] spire. The steeple was actually rebuilt in the later C18. The chancel was also rebuilt (inscriptions 1789) and the aisles (like the chancel) faced with stucco. Clerestory with … C13 three-light windows. The nave and S aisle are of c.1200. N arcade C14 on octagonal piers. Monument [to] John St Andrew d. 1625. (1)
Early English. Most sadly pulled about by amateurs in architecture. (2)
The chancel was entirely rebuilt about 150 years ago [c.1775]. Part of the tower and spire … was taken down at the end of last century, and rebuilt. Two bays of the S pier arcade, in the Norman Transitional style of architecture, are the most ancient portion … remaining. [The] clerestory windows … were added early in the 15th century. (3)
