Concentric double circle. (1)
This feature is located in a flat permanent pasture field in the Trent flood plain and appears to comprise 2 concentric rings. There are no surface indications. (2)
Site 5. A composite feature of five, possibly six, intercutting circuits … the area encompassed by the ditch appears to have increased over the life of the monument, perhaps reaching 15m or so across when the ditch was cut for the last time. It would appear that both the multi-phase ring-ditch and the pits within its arc belong to the earlier part of the Neolithic period, but the assemblage of artefacts indicates some continued or renewed activity at or around the monument towards the end of the Neolithic. (3)
This ring ditch produced no evidence of burials and was shown to be associated with earlier, Neolithic, Grimston pottery. (4)
