Full Description
Partly rebuilt with a short W tower, probably c.1630-50. At the E end is a stone inscribed C1629W. The N wall looks old, see the C14 buttresses. Of the old building some of the materials were used. No aisles and no separate chancel. Jacobean pulpit in a composition with reader's desk below. Font: C15. Two Hutchinson monuments, one of them to Colonel John Hutchinson d. 1664. (1)
The old church … and the chancel … were pulled down by Colonel John Hutchinson, and the present edifice built. (2)
