Full Description

The mill was very tall - c 50ft and 20ft across at the bottom. It had a revolving top and 4 sails. It went straight up for a couple of feet and then tapered to a domed top. It was so tall that it became a landmark. Well built of brick and had a few outbuildings for storage. In 1956 the mill was knocked down to make way for new houses. It was already in the middle of an estate. In the early days sails, then steam were used to drive the grinding stones (08/07/1968). (2)
