Full Description

Of normal type well preserved. Ditch round main (W) rectangle is 6ft deep. Slight bank visible above scarp. (3)
A moated site with fishponds. There are 2 level platforms, one 38m x 38m and the other 28m x 34m, surrounded by a moat 13m wide at the top. There are no indications of buildings. The depth of the moat varies from 0.5m to 1.5m and reaches a maximum depth of 2.0m at the NE corner where it is joined to a set of fishponds. These describe a U shape, 100m on the long side and 50m at the 2 short sides. The width of the ponds is is 15m at the top and they are 1.5m deep with an embankment, broken in places along the middle. There is no sign of an outlet, but modern trackway affects S edge of earthworks. (4)
