Full Description

Mr Walker of Neale's Buildings has collected a good number of sherds of Ro grey and other coarse wares, including a mortarium rim, from a site in one of his fields. He indicated the approximate area, and this was stubble, with the surface lightly broken up when perambulated. It is fairly flat and bounded on the NW by a deep ditch (an old watercourse). A thin scatter of grey wares was found together with some undressed stones at SK 77784572. (1)
A scatter of building stones, wall plaster and roof tiles as well as Ro pottery, found on the surface. Possible site of Ro villa. (2)
A faint N-S cropmark at SK 77834574 is probably the site of a Ro villa. (3)
