Full Description

Cemetery, ? chapel of St Helen. Minimum of 12 burials disturbed in property renovations July/Aug 1983. Minimum of 3 burials came from trenching around walls of house for drainage. Further 8 exposed in relaying floors within house, 7 of these recorded. Another 1 disturbed at N end of garden, some 20-25m from house. No grave goods. Kirkhill House and curtiledge appears to lie within (or may be) Chapel Yard from which ill recorded burials came in C18 (2). Vague mentions of finds of human bones in this area (2) may derive from C19 building of Kirkhill House, the foundation trenches of which cut through the recorded burials. (1)
