Full Description
Syerston Hall. A simple 5 bay, 2 storey brick building with a stone columned porch, built 1793-6. (1)
Built by the Fillinghams … 1793-6. Across the back a one-bay deep extension of 1812. Several plans are dated 1793, including a sketch plan signed WG, possibly William Gauntley of Bakewell. (2)
[A] 'plan of a house by Mr. Kirk' is undated, but has some similarities with the house today. This may have been George Kirk, carpenter, mentioned as carrying out much of the joinery required both for the original house and the extensions of 1812 onwards. (3)
