Full Description

Area possibly small hill enclosed by ditch ? Second ditch to the N ? Subrectangular enclosure. (1)
Large approx oval enclosure, c 325m by 200m internally, on a low spur of Mercia mudstone. A broad positive cropmark, conceivably the remains of a ploughed-out bank, flanking the outer edge of a negative cropmark, possibly an encircling ditch. Also possible traces of an outer ditch on W side. Auger survey in 1991 inconclusive. An approx oval depression, c 70 x 75m internally and up to c 1m deep, within the area, might be a marl pit. Field boundary diverges here, but date uncertain. (1)
Grid ref centred. See 01729 for nearby finds.
