Full Description

A simple rectangular stone hall of the C12 was extended about 1200 or soon afterwards by constructing at its east end what may have been a two-storied building, the alterations including probably an inner staircase. Shallow ditches underlying the C13 work may well have been connected with the first hall. Occupation probably ended about 1400, a date which agrees well both with the pottery and coins, and with the attainder of the last of the Bardolph barons. (5)
