Full Description

C13. The west steeple may be a little earlier. In the C15 a spire … was added. The S aisle has Dec windows. Font of c.1300 ... the best font of its date in the county. Monuments: Sir John de Lowdham d.1318. A priest, incised slab of c.1520. Scott restored it in 1860 and the chancel was rebuilt in 1890. (1)
The tower … appears to belong to the latter part of the 12th century. The spire is ... probably of the 14th century. Large W buttresses were added in 1821. The chancel was rebuilt … in the 14th century. [It] was repaired and in great part re-built … about fifteen years ago [c.1893]. The rebuilding of the nave … must have taken place before the end of the 13th century. The porch … has been rebuilt in modern times. The wall of the S aisle [was] raised … by the middle of the 14th century. The N aisle was entirely rebuilt … about the end of the same century. Clerestory … of the end of the 15th century or the beginning of the 16th. (2)
