Kimberley - a small village with 37% (tax) relief in 1434, but since repopulated with collieries. Mentioned separately in 1316 and in the tax list of 1334. Village shrinkage by 1434. (1)

The depopulated parish was united with Greasley in 1448. The present church was built in 1847 for the new parish, revived by brewing and framework knitting. (2)
