Deserted Med village of Hempshill. (1)
Hempshill (Greasley) chapel listed under "Churches of which the sites are uncertain or unknown". (2)
Hempshill contains 2 or 3 houses. (3)
Nothing visible on APs. (4)
Extensive development has taken place in proximity to Hempshill Hall; no evidence of desertion is to be seen on the ground. (5)
Hempshill Farm was Hamessel in the DB in 1086, and was Hempsell in 1611. (6)
