Sand pit (1)
Sand quarry, c 1900? Roughly semi-circular cut into bunter hillside. Height of quarry face 40ft Ramp up 5th face of quarry, W facing cliff (30ft) has been obscured by tip. Bottom of quarry now covered by "wild" vegetation. Dimensions 300yds x 200yds x 151yds. Excavators once used on site - no machinery left. Quarry now being filled in with rubbish (19/07/1966). (2)
