Full Description

Forge (wheelwright and smithy), pre 1800. Originally a barn, but used as a forge for 90 years. Sandstone blocks. Length 41ft, width 15ft, height 10ft. Slate roof supported by timber beams. Condition good, not likely to be demolished in immediate future - owned by Nowell. No original machinery, present machinery electrical. 02/07/1964. (1)
