"Selston Church -"Except for the C.14 tower with diagonal buttresses and a C15 top, the exterior of the church looks entirely new... Yet on entering it, one is in a building of a piece. It must be all C13, even the N. arcade which seems at first well back in the C.12 with its almost unmoulded arches... and its
low circular piers with entirely Norman-looking capitals... But the E. and W. resp onds have demi-shafts keeled in such a way as is impossible, as far as we know, before the C13..." (1)
