Full Description
The area centred on above grid ref, Calladine Lane, was looked over, but the existence of growing crops made any survey impossible. There is local talk regarding a Ro road in the area and there is a definite band of stone running E-W across the area but proof will have to wait ... for a full field walking programme. (1)
Small pieces of Permian sandstone are to be found scattered over (this area) which may have been mistaken for the agger of the Roman road. Fieldwalking has not found any evidence to support the existence of a Roman agger. (2)
L 9515-19 for finds in the area.
