Full Description

The right to hold a market here was granted in the reign of Henry III (1216- 1272). The first mention of this cross was in 1864. In 1902 some of the base stones were loose. The head is lost. (1)
This monument consists of head, shaft, socket and base and a plinth of 3 steps. There has been slight modern restoration. The cross is of C17 style. (2)
