Sandstone built viaduct, carrying a double track railway on 5 arches, the piers have shallow pilaster buttresses, and the whole is given added strength by symmetrically spaced circular iron ties. The N archway, which is now blocked, straddles an earlier arch. The stone parapets are being damaged by vandals, and some of the stonework has been replaced by concrete. This viaduct is part of the original horse-drawn railway from Mansfield Pinsetown [sic], and the centre arch has the following legend - O & P or Q & P, 1817. Now used as a siding by BR and future uncertain. Viaduct now stranded amidst a housing estate and farmstead, with a new walkway being constructed under N arch along river bank. Fairly sound. (1)
