Full Description

The Church or Chapel, which is dedicated to St. James, was rebuilding when I visited this place [in] 1795, and is fitting up in a very elegant Gothic style, by Mr Montague. (1)
The church comprises chancel, nave, S porch and W tower. The porch is dated 1795. The tower is apparently late C14 but considerably repaired. The church contains C15 glass and C12/C13 sepulchral slabs. A C13 font is discarded in the churchyard. (3)
The church is in use for public worship. (4)
Built by … Frederick Montagu (sic) in 1795. (5)
