Full Description

In a field to SW of junction of Southwell-Kirklington Road with road from Edingley near Goldhill Cottages. Traverse along S fence; field examination of possible road from AD PONTEM along Crew Lane to NW. Band of gravel of limited width of approx 50ft (this was picked up again on W edge of field). 14 sherds of Ro pottery including samian, ring necked flagon rim. (1)
The band of gravel is not now evident nor has Mr March (a trained field worker) ever noticed it. (2)
See M 2765 for Ro fort (this site is on its S edge), L 2767 for futher stretch of ? Ro road, may be a continuation; L 5887 for nearby finds.
