Full Description

1896. Main building 60ft x 48ft with boiler house built on, 30ft x 48ft. Also smithies, hut, battery room for generating electricity from gas and weighbridge, to weigh coal for steam engines. Railway siding for coal trucks, just taken up. Main building has a very high, fine roof. The walls are of alternate English and Flemish bond red brick. Large cooling pond for steam engines, now out of use. Originally 2 large beam engines - removed 1938 for diesel plant. Original beam and hoist used for fitting plant still intact (02/07/1964). (1)
