Full Description

Rectangular feature with internal features. (1)
An E-shaped soilmark, c 30m square. The site was wooded and enclosed within a larger field by 1796 (4), while an AP of 1973 shows the site surviving as an earthwork in a pasture field also preserving ridge and furrow. The site has since been levelled by ploughing, but still shows as a light brown soilmark against darker peaty alluvium. Possibly a Med fishpond. (3)
Morph: 209.3.1 unknown medieval enclosure. (4)
See L1644,5 for nearby finds scatters, L1646,7 for earthworks, L1655 for cropmarks.
