Full Description

Cropmarks NE of Morton, along Marlock Dyke. May be associated with village shrinkage. Other cropmarks in this area, see SMR map. Under high crop, perambulated in part but no associable finds made. The level of the crop is regular suggesting only minor early ground disturbance. Topographically the situation is open and level, slightly above the Trent river meadows. The tenant/farmer has no knowledge of any archaeological finds from the concerned fields. Reperambulation --/10/1974; under plough, no surface finds other than modern debris. (1)
