On the site of the manor house of the Nevills which was still standing in 1820 can be seen a large and a small rectangular moated site, and elaborate fish stews, the latter partly obliterated by the railway. (3)
An elaborate series of 11 fish ponds and a double moated site which although possibly part of the Nevill estate may also have monastic connections with Thurgarton Priory (see Thoroton). The ditches were water filled but appeared to be at least 1.20m deep and up to 5m wide. The railway runs across the N corner of the scheduled area and although this is damaging it has to be admitted that the best view of the earthworks is obtained from a railway carriage. (4)
