Full Description
Oval earthwork on Burgage Hill (above grid ref). Also described as "on a hill to the NE of the River Greet and N of the town of Southwell". The plan was published by Dickinson. The S end was destroyed when making a sewer. Nothing now remains. (1) (2)
A shallow ditch visible at SK 707539 (L3343) which could be part of the E defences. (3)
No remains of an oval earthwork could be found on Burgage Hill. The ditch of (3) and "earthwork" on (4) both refer to an old road of no archaeological interest. (5)
