Full Description
Plenty of early Norman herringbone masonry, in places laid regularly with alternating two or three straight courses. The whole structure of the church is Norman, in spite of the later tower arch … and [various additions] to the W tower. Chancel … E window … typical early C14. [Interiors] designed by Hodgson Fowler [in] 1890. (1)
The walls … are altogether Norman. At the end of the 13th century the chancel appears to have been … lengthened and the present east window set up. The porch was … apparently the gift of Sir Thomas Sutton, who died in 1526. (2)
Thermal Image produced for the east wall of the C18 mausoleum extension. (3)
