Full Description
A ridge starting at the NW corner of the Ro fort (sic) of Margidunum can be traced both on the ground and from the air. It runs parallel with the Fosse Way about 200yds to the W, as far as the wood opposite Flintham Hall (in Kneeton parish). The ridge is considered by Dr F Oswald to be the initial line of the Fosse prior to reconstruction in Hadrian's reign. (1) (2)
