The Moot Hall, a colonnaded building on the N side of the Market Place, is to be pulled down, and the new building on the site will have a replica of the facade and the roof design of the old. (1)
… The original of 1708, with the arms of John Holles, Duke of Newcastle, whose manorial moot hall it was. (2)
