Full Description

Trent Works - iron. (1)
(Still in use 1972) Nicholson's Trent Iron Works. This large agricultural machinery manufactory and iron foundry is now disused and becoming derelict. Situated on the N bank of the river adjacent to the Great N Road on the E side, the most interesting building is the office block - a rectangular 2 storey building on the Trent bank. The windows are set back behind a semi-circular headed colonnade. The roof has lantern lights and to the side away from the river is a tower with clock. The building dates from the 1860s to 70s. (2)
Complex includes workshops, offices, foundry. See archive file for details. (3)
See L3216 for adjacent complex.
