Full Description

A plain lead coffin, found 15/05/1941 in field called "Norwell", containing the decomposed remains of a male skeleton. 3 pottery fragments found near the head are dated late C2/early C3 but no definite date can be given for the interment. (1)
2 more lead coffins found in 1971 (one possibly with grid ref SK 8400 5849), one containing an adult female skeleton. All 3 are now in NWM. (2) (3)
