Full Description

Referred to as "the ancient cross" in a directory of 1832. Only the base now remains. (1)
Remains comprise a socket stone, with the shaft snapped off flush with the top, standing on a plinth and 4 steps. (2)
A rectangular 4-stepped base, surmounted by the base of the shaft, octagonal at its foot and chamfered out to the square at the top. The top of the base stone is rounded off and contains the socket of the original shaft. Probably C15. (3)
Probably local stone, the shaft is 30cm square and 1.25m high. (4)
Market cross. Early C14. (6)
