Full Description

First installment of works, 1901. The materials used were of the best, consequently the fabric is still in first class condition. The stand-by plant housed therein is kept under steam, ready for almost immediate use in an emergency. The roof is covered with green Cumberland slates, the external facing bricks are Rusbon reds with mortar joints only c 1/8in thick. There is also stonework embellishment. Second installment, 1907, similar but with blue slate roof. See cards for descriptions of machinery (--/09/1964). (1)
Owned by Nottm Corporation. Now stripped of its steam engines. (3)
Red brick, with some shaped gables and a tall polygonal chimney. (4)
