Full Description

Cropmarks 1 mile E of Normanton. Series of enclosures of subrectangular shape. 2 photos of slightly different area. Enclosures in 2 fields, double ditches too. Not like normal run of IA/Ro enclosures as they are individual and not connected. They also look different. At least 2 phases of enclosures, overlapping at A. (1) (2)
With ring ditch in same field. Enclosures not plotted very accurately. Ring ditch has ? opposed entrances and central pit. (3) (4)
The marks are located in a field that is raised above its neighbours and shelves gently E from the centre. They form a contiguous group of subrectangular enclosures with some of the strongly marked outlines having a fainter parallel "shadow". A double linear ditch crosses the SW corner of the field. Under fresh plough when visited, but nothing of interest was found. (5)
Morph: 183.16.2 paddock, 183.16.3 enclosure, 183.16.4 stock enclosure, 183.16.5 enclosure, 183.17.1 enclosure, UP settlement. (6)
