Full Description

Between Lodge Farm and Trent ... one or possibly 2 subrectangular enclosures. (1) (2)
1970 APs revealed 9 subrectangular enclosures, possibly 10. (3)
Perambulation of the field containing the square enclosures produced nothing of interest, and enquiries at the farm were equally negative. The fields are fairly level and are bounded on the E by the River Trent. (4)
Scheduled --/08/1976. A group of small rectangular enclosures, probably IA barrows. They are 7-10m square: examples of this type of barrow are rare outside the E part of Yorkshire/Humberside. See (7). (5)
The whole field is down to arable. (6)
Morph: 176.8.1 square barrow, 176.8.2 square barrow, 176.8.3 square barrow, 176.8.4 square barrow, 176.8.5 square barrow, 176.8.6 square barrow, 176.8.7 square barrow, 176.8.8 square barrow, 176.8.9, IA barrow cemetery. (8)
