Full Description

Cuckney (actually in Holbeck) - one field S of Wood End Farm is a mound c 18yds in diameter and 3ft high. It has spread with ploughing. It stands on high ground on Bunter sandstone. There is no sign of a surrounding ditch. (1)
A low circular mound, 30m diam with a max height of 0.9m, much reduced by ploughing. Almost certainly a barrow. (2)
Much ploughed out tumulus with signs of ditch 28yds in diam, 3ft high. (3)
A rectangular area is enclosed around the barrow leaving the mound unploughed in the future works (sic). However the mound is now populated by weeds and willowherb and some small shrubs and trees are colonizing the area. Mound is reduced but measures 8m diameter by ? 0.45m high. No ditch is evident through the ploughsoil. (4)
