Full Description

The deserted Med village of Milnthorpe, SK 575715. Name Milnthorpe Lodge at SK 578722. (2)
There is no trace of the village on the ground, but inspection of (4) revealed a small nucleation of some 8 steadings at above grid ref, almost certainly the small hamlet of Milnthorpe. (3)
Milnthorp: the "Mill hamlet", mentioned in the Welbeck Cartulary in 1227. (5)
Settlemtn shown, and named. (6)
