In Budby, in the field to the NW of Thoresby Park gates is a mound 4-5ft high and c 17yds in diameter. It stands on high ground with no trace of a surrounding ditch. (1)
Mound about 22yds in diameter. Faint traces of ditch but this may have been caused by the plough (ploughed round and sown by winter wheat). 5ft 8in high with clump of scotch firs growing on top. (2)
At above grid ref is a grass covered mound holding a small copse. The feature which has been extensively burrowed by rabbits has a max diameter of 23.2m and a max height of 1.6m; there is no ditch. Thoresby Estate Office have no knowledge of the origin of the mound and there is no known field name. Now pasture surrounded, the topographical situation and present appearance suggest it to be a bowl barrow. (3)
Fine barrow on a crest overlooking the western dry valley. 7m diameter by 1.75m high covered in grass and fir trees, near the end of their lives. Possible further barrows along this ridge showing as cropmarks in the ripening corn. (4)
