Full Description

Lincoln Corporation water pumping station. Large brick building of 1909-11, containing 2 large triple expansion steam engines, pumping water for Lincoln. Was working until recently but engines are to be scrapped unless removed for preservation in near future. The engine house is a listed building (Gd 2) but after a public enquiry was held, the minister has given consent for demolition. Public vandalism. (1)
Public enquiry 1974, demolished. (2)
1908-11 (possibly by Blomfield). Steam engines … are destined for the Welsh Industrial and Maritime Museum. (3)
