Full Description

1845. Nave, N aisle, chancel, W tower. Built at the cost of the Duke of Newcastle, by Wilkins. (1)
William Wilkin's design of 1817 was rejected (2). (3)
Within the chancel of St. Mary's Church … is part of a brass which was discovered c.1920 … It is not certain whether [the] figure is the upper half of a full length brass supplied in two plates or whether this is the entire brass, being of the demi-effigy type which was quite common in the late 14th century. (4)
