Full Description

There is an earth dam across a shallow valley below Carburton Hills. There is a sluice gate of ashlar and brick, now ruined. The pond behind the dam is now dry but is shown on (2) as a fishpond. The pond was probably filled through a tile drain coming into the pond from the direction of the Flood Dyke. There is some erosion around the inlet to the pond and tumbled stonework. There is a tree growing from the wall of the outlet sluice. (1)
