Full Description

This gate was important in the heyday of the estate as this was the principal drive to the Haughton Estate and the Newcastle mausoleum at West Markham. The gates and lodges around the park are to designs by Wright and date from the 1780s. Some repairs to the stonework have been carried out (1970s). (1)
