Full Description

A number of buildings are shown beside the Drayton road, just inside Drayton Gate. They appear to be a hutted camp, dating from the use of the park during and after WW2 for storing munitions and for POW accomodation. The earthwork and wall to the SW of the camp appears to have been the butts for a rifle range. Much of the area has been planted with conifers since WW2. Traces of the hutted camp can still be seen amongst the trees and beside the Drayton road. (1)
